About Us — cessa.

Quitting smoking is one of the most common decisions in the world.

More than a billion people smoke, and most of them have already decided to quit. After years, giving up cigarettes stops being about wanting to and becomes something else: a daily fight against a habit built over decades, one that shows up in the most ordinary moments of the day without any warning.

There are a billion people trapped by cigarettes, most of them wanting out, and still almost no modern, accessible solution built for them. A problem this big, with so many people trying and so little support to match, couldn't go unanswered. Cessa started by looking straight at that gap.

Smokers over the last 30 years.

Our journey started with a single word.

Before there was a product, a color, or a symbol, there was a purpose. And that purpose needed to fit into a single word, one that was easy to say, impossible to forget, and able to carry the whole reason the brand exists, on its own.

We found that word in Portuguese. Cessa comes from cessar, to stop, to cease, to bring to an end. It's exactly what the brand sets out to do: help someone put a final stop to a habit that's gone on for far too long.

Our name announces what the person has already decided: an end.

An identity that carries the idea of ending.

The symbol is our C. A circle represents a cycle that repeats without end, the habit that keeps coming back. So we cut it open: the C is that interrupted circle. And to mark that the ending is final, we added a period. A full stop. It's a symbol that works at any size, recognizable even at its smallest, built to live everywhere.

The colors are intentional too. We drew on the visual language of the cigarette brands our audience already knows by heart, similar tones, that same familiar feeling. Not by accident: the more the experience echoes the old gesture, the more natural the switch feels. Cessa looks like what the person is leaving behind, precisely so it can take its place.

We had the idea. The object was still missing.

By this point, Cessa already existed as a concept. We had the name, the symbol, the colors, and a clear way to communicate. Above all, we had a conviction: that quitting smoking is a poorly solved problem, and that it could be helped in a different way. Cessa's entire purpose depended on becoming something concrete, an object that was useful and present at the exact moment the craving hits.

The next challenge: figuring out what that object would be. It wasn't enough to create just another product to sell. It had to answer the real problem, and to do that, we first needed to truly understand what makes someone light a cigarette even after they've already decided to quit.

And that's how Cessa Breathe was born.

If the gesture was what held people back, then the gesture was what we'd give back, minus the poison. While researching, we found similar objects already on the market. Instead of ignoring them, we used them as reference and built our own product, designed from the ground up for this exact purpose: something you hold like a cigarette and breathe through like you'd take a drag, with an aromatic cotton core and packaging made for the everyday life of someone trying to quit.

Discreet enough to wear around your neck. Present enough to be there the moment the craving hits.
